The Book of Zombie’ recommends ‘28 Weeks Later’

‘The Book of Zombie’ recommends ‘28 Weeks Later’

This film had no right being as good as it did. A fine follow-up to Danny Boyle’s brilliant ‘Days’ entry. More gore… more action… more zombies (er, infected.. I guess).

Go see it!

THE BIGGEST THANKS EVER TO THE BJ SHEA EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!

BJ Shea & company are Gods among ants…

These guys took us in and let us promote a film we’re working so hard to make a reality.

It was an absolutely incredible experience on all levels.

… We also got to say “crotch” on the air, and take a shot at M. Night Shyamalan.

If you don’t listen to the show… now is a good time to start.

AUDITIONS WERE A SUCCESS!

Holy monologue, Batman…

Two days straight of auditions.

We saw everything from absolute brilliance… to downright macabre. It also didn’t help with all of our schedules (all of us working overnight shifts), to work ten hours at the station, then sit in a library meeting room for an additional six.

It was very ‘trying’ on the ol’ brain matter for all involved.

We learned from our casting director about ‘layers’… ’sides’, and that asking an actor to “make me want to jump your bones” even though that particular character is holding a bloodied chainsaw… is a good thing.

A wonderful learning experience all around.

We’re all very excited because we feel we have every part pretty much bagged with the exception of two major characters… but, we’ll figure something out.

Call-backs are Monday!

More info to come!

HAIL TO THE DIRECTOR… HE GOT US BOOMSTICKS!

In the neverending quest to get creative and seek out any and all props for ‘The Book Of Zombie’… our esteemed director makes a contribution… while the rest of us went to see ‘Spider-Man 3′ over the weekend.

Remember folks, this ain’t Industrial Light & Magic…

FROM SCOTT:

Just to keep everyone up to date, here’s what I got done during the weekend.

1.) I now have a double-barrel shotgun for the part of “Phil” the double-barrel shotgun.

2.) I have another, single barrel shotgun, peripheral “Boothe” equipment.

3.) got a fog machine, probably will be great for the outside night shots.

4.) got a bee smoker, might work for smoking zombie shots.

the bad news….

I was unable to secure another neon beer light. Craney and I might have to use the letterhead and write some beer distributors to see if they will loan one or two out for us.

We are 1 month out from shooting, if anyone has ideas, suggestions, concerns, etc. NOW is the time to voice them.

‘The Book Of Zombie’ TO HIT THE AIRWAVES… we think

That’s right, kiddies… me (the screenwriter), and Scotty (the director) are selling right the fuck out and going on the ‘BJ Shea Experience’ in Seattle to promote the film.

(Funny how we’re promoting a film that hasn’t even started shooting… here’s to being ambitious!)

We’ve received the “green light” for the week of the 14th.

So, gather up the family and sit around a radio to listen to Scott and I explain the film and make complete dickheads out of ourselves for the sake of amateur filmmaking.

But seriously, it’s kind of cool. Right?

Also, I’ll update when I know an exact date/time.
